Treating White Spots (Icon)

It is possible within our practice to reduce or even completely eliminate white spots on the front teeth (calcium spots/Fluorosis). This treatment with Icon works on the basis of infiltration of the white spot. We also compare it to the method of Carglass: This involves drawing a liquid substance from the outside into the small star in the window, after which nothing more can be seen. With Icon, there is also no grinding or drilling of the tooth and it preserves the healthy tooth structure.

For treatment up to 4 teeth, 1 appointment can be scheduled. If you want to treat more teeth, it will be in multiple sessions. During treatment, the situation is recorded beforehand and afterwards, for example by means of a light photograph. Then the gums are protected using a rubber dam and the teeth are cleaned very thoroughly in several steps. Finally, a liquid is applied to remove the white stain and the tooth is polished for optimal and shiny results.

Is the treatment painful ?

In general, the treatment is completely painless. However, if you have sensitive teeth, they may become even more sensitive due to / during extensive cleaning. Of course, if desired, the treatment can always take place under anesthesia to discuss your discomfort as much as possible.
